Climbing in Fontainebleau

The Story

Fontainebleau is bouldering's holy ground — a forest an hour from Paris where generations of climbers have been reading sandstone and chalking up. We went for a weekend with friends, no agenda beyond moving through the trees and seeing what we could climb.

The Making

Handheld only, minimal rig — nothing that would slow us down or break the flow of the weekend. The goal was to capture what a bouldering trip actually feels like: the falls, the sends, the spotting, the cheers, and the small details of hand- and footwork.
